Your Alter Escape is a 55-minute guided scalp spa experience designed to calm your mind while nourishing your scalp and hair. Every appointment takes place in one of our ten private treatment suites, where you’ll settle onto a comfortable lay-flat bed and let the next hour belong entirely to you.

Your experience begins with a welcoming arrival ritual before we ease into a relaxing dry scalp massage with nourishing scalp oils. Warm waterfall therapy follows, gently rinsing away tension and preparing your scalp for a luxurious double cleanse.

Throughout your service, your scalp and hair are treated to deeply cleansing shampoos, soothing massage techniques, restorative conditioning treatments, and carefully selected therapies designed to leave both your scalp and your mind feeling refreshed. Every movement is intentional, every detail designed to help you disconnect from the pace of everyday life.

Unlike a traditional salon visit, there are no mirrors, no rushed appointments, and no pressure to chat. This is your time to rest. Many guests close their eyes, take a deep breath, and simply enjoy being cared for.

Why Don’t We Offer Blowouts?

One of the questions we hear most often is whether your appointment includes a blow-dry and style.

The answer is no…and it’s intentional.

At Alter, our focus is scalp health, hair wellness, and relaxation. We finish your experience by gently towel-drying your hair in sections, combing through a nourishing leave-in conditioning treatment, and preparing your hair to air dry naturally. Allowing the conditioning treatment to remain on the hair helps extend its benefits beyond your appointment, leaving your hair feeling soft, hydrated, and healthy.

Instead of leaving with a styled hairstyle, you’ll leave with something even better: a healthier scalp, nourished hair, and a quieter mind.

A Note on Extensions:

Because our treatment works directly on the scalp surface, we require that extensions be removed prior to your visit. Our treatment is ideal for those between extension appointments, or as a regular part of scalp maintenance. Please reach out if you have questions about whether your specific style is appropriate.
